Providence Horticulture, Inc. is the leading provider of horticultural consulting and tree and landscape health care services in the San Joaquin Valley. We provide such services as Tree trimming, removal, and planting / Tree and landscape health care treatments / Tree and landscape pest control & other horticultural pest control / Landscape irrigation analysis, and modifications for efficiency / Structural pest control.
The main work is to visit residential and commercial locations throughout Central and Northern California evaluating irrigation systems, then making upgrades and changes to the systems to enhance irrigation efficiency. When irrigation work is not available, the work consists of doing fertilization, nuisance fruit control, weed control, as well as horticultural insect and disease control in the Central Valley, based in Fresno.
We strongly prefer someone who has experience installing and maintaining landscape irrigation systems. Some experience dealing with plants, fertilizer, and landscape pest control is preferred. Prefer someone who is interested in trees and landscape, is hungry to learn, and is quick to do so. It is important that the person be able to go out of town for up to 5 days a week without any problem (vehicle provided). It is imperative that employees can be trusted to work on their own. It is important to have good communications skills and a likable personality as there will be much interaction with customers, requiring patience and insight into people.
The work is physical and outside, so employees must be OK with heat, wet, cold, mud, dust, etc… There will be a background check for this position as it requires much interaction with customers on their property, and one must pass the background check to take the position. A clean driving record is also required. Once hired, if our insurance company cannot insure them, they will be terminated.
